Sherlocks Holmes

Sherlock Holmes

Director: Guy Ritchie
Starring: Robert Downey, Jr., Jude Law, Rachel McAdams
IMDB Rating: 7.6
My Rating: 9.0

This movie could have been such a down fall but I am so happy it didn't. Remaking a classic story doesn't always makes a good film. But Guy Ritchie has really made the story relevant and interesting, all the while keeping to the character of Sherlocks Holmes.

Robert Downey, Jr. has really been a joy to watch since 'Iron Man'. I am particularly looking forward to this movie because of the big personality of Sherlocks Holmes. Robert Downey, Jr. did a pleasant job doing the part and more.

The Invention of Lying

The Invention of Lying [2009]

Director: Ricky Gervais, Matthew Robinson

Starring:Ricky Gervais, Jennifer Garner
IMDB Rating: 6.6
My Rating: 8.0

A movie resides in a world where everybody tells the truth, until a guy discovered 'lie'. There is absolutely no lies in this world, so much that the word 'truth' does not exist. And then how the world unfolds in front of this man.

Having watched this, I would like to say kudos to the makers of this film. It's original, funny and profound. This has got to be the most original comedy movie I have seen in a long time. Although the movie suggest that religion and god is fake and a lie, and is probably going to be offensive to some people. But I find the idea to be rather mind bending and 'Inventive'. This movie may not be your funniest, most entertaining movie, but it will surely be one that is going to be in your head for a very long time.

Glee S1E01

Glee. In short, it's about Will Schuester a former member of Glee Club trying to revive the music club to it's glory days with the help of a bunch of talented mistreated students.

Glee is a TV show like no other that I can guarantee. This episode really caught me, being a loyal fan of "So You Think You Can Dance" and "American Idol", I feel like this series is going to be a great, even after just watching the first episode. If you are a TV fan like me, this is a series you should not miss out!! Nuff said, just go watch it.

Zombieland

Zombieland [2009]

Director: Ruben Fleischer

Starring: Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, Abigail Breslin
IMDB Rating: 8.0
My Rating: 8.0

Zombieland, you get what this movie is all about just from the title. This movie is an 'above average' for me, but none the less entertaining. These are the most tamed Zombies I've seen so far. This movie is simple, entertaining and funny. DO NOT expect it to be a horror film. The jokes were good, Zombies looked real but not as smart. Like I said, this movie is simple entertainment. This movie is no "Resident Evil" or "Land of the Dead", do not expect too much and just enjoy killing the living dead. Cheers

Avatar

Avatar [2009]

Director: James Cameron
Starring: Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver
IMDB Rating: 8.8
My Rating: 9.0

James Cameron did a wonderful job bringing us into a beautiful he has created. I watched the 3D version of the movie and i was very impressed. unlike other movies, the 3D in this movie created an in depth view of Pandora., instead of focusing on the capabilities of Dolby's 3D technology, which is done by in almost all of the 3D films i saw previously.

By casting Zoe Saldana and Sam Worthington as the lead is actually very smart because they a relatively new as far as leading acting goes. Therefore audiences can focus more on the character of the story instead of the actor.

I loved this film and now wished that i can get to watch it again on IMAX 3D, just to experience Pandora again.

Avatar is a film that I felt did lived up to all the hype, unlike New Moon and Storm Riders 2. Rest assured that you will get what you paid for.
